Michael Pyle was born and raised in rural Rittman, Ohio. Michael currently lives there with his wife Lorie and their two children. Side by Side: Life According to Racing is Michael`s first venture into the literary field. He became an author "by accident" while keeping a journal of life`s up`s and down`s. After some conversations between some friends and family, Michael decided to take his journal to the next level. Side by Side took 3 1/2 years to write and tells the story of Michael`s love for motorsports and how it has impacted his life. The early chapters of Side by Side cover Michael`s introduction to the sport of auto racing by way of televsion and attending local short track racing on Saturday nights. The context later shifts to big league open wheel racing and the Nascar stock cars.

Michael is a self described "Fan Addict," a true racer at heart. Michael and his wife enjoy spending time with their 2 children. When not putting in a "good day`s work," Michael enjoys Saturday night racing at the local short track, watching a race on television, spending time in his garden, or just relaxing on the front porch.
